UHMWPE is a high performing engineering plastic that is also
known as Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene. This is an often
overlooked engineering plastic that does have significant advantages and
properties making UHMWPE Rod an excellent plastic for many engineering
applications.
UHMWPE Features One of the key reasons that UHMWPE is often
specified is because of its incredible abrasion resistance. This
engineering plastic has probably one of the best abrasion resistance levels
of all the engineering plastics to make UHMWPE probably unique at this
level. Another key reason that UHMWPE Rod is chosen is because of the very
low friction levels which make for very free running bearings or sliding
surfaces. UHMWPE has similar low friction levels to that of PTFE which is
very good indeed.
